The original Follicare®
System was developed in 1996 by Dr. Chris Catalfo for
his own personal use.
Dr. Catalfo started to experience the
effects of androgenic alopecia in 1984. He tried every
product available to stop his own hair loss and re-grow
hair. Not having success with any of these available
preparations (including minoxidil by itself), he personally
started researching and experimenting with different
combinations of ingredients he believed could promote new
hair growth. Since the original formula was developed,
Follicare® has gone through several generations of
enhancements leading to the present Follicare® Hair Growth
and Restoration System for Men.

The Follicare® Topical
Spray, a proprietary combination of clinically proven
ingredients, is formulated to target proven hair killers

Nutritional Supplement
combines the following 15 natural vitamins, minerals,
DHT blockers, and compounds that promote increased blood

Ginkgo Biloba Leaf-100mg
a proven vasodilator that helps promote increased
blood flow to the scalp.
Copper-3mg acts as a
catalyst for several growth-related reactions and
can help stimulate dormant hair follicles. Also,
copper can protect zinc thereby enhancing it's DHT
fighting role. Finally, copper works to help the
body absorb B-vitamins.
Saw Palmetto Berry
Extract-320mg (85-95% sterols) is clinically
proven to block the formation of DHT by inhibiting
both forms (Type I and II) of 5 alpha reductase
which converts testosterone to DHT.
Nettle Leaf-300mg can
block the production of DHT.
Folate-200mcg works
synergistically with the other B vitamins in our
formulation. It is a key nutrient necessary to

Biotin-1,000mcg is a B
vitamin that is an essential part your natural hair
growing process. Biotin
helps thicken the hair shaft resulting in hair with

Iodine-150mcg helps
regulate thyroid hormones and prevents dry hair and

Zinc-15mg is an
important antioxidant and immune booster that blocks
DHT by inhibiting 5 alpha reductase. In addition to
reducing DHT, zinc also helps reduce sebum that can
cause inflammation and harm the scalp
Niacin-40mg is a B
vitamin important for healthy hair growth. It is
necessary for many energy producing reactions in the
body and is instrumental to circulation and cell
growth.
Vitamin B6-30mg helps
produce melanin which gives hair its color. It is
also an essential partner to zinc in helping to
block DHT formation.
Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin
B5)-30mg is an essential B vitamin that the
body requires to grow healthy hair.
Beta-Sitosterol-100mg is
a “phytosterol” that has been shown to reduce the
effects of DHT, which makes it a good complement to
saw palmetto and other ingredients in Follicare®.
Taurine-100mg is an

Follicare® Revitalizing Shampoo
with UV Protection deep cleans the scalp and protects
the hair from damaging UV rays. It fortifies and
strengthens hair while soothing and moisturizing. This
unique formulation contains no sulfates or parabens

Before we discuss some
of the key ingredients in Follicare®’s Revitalizing
Shampoo with UV Protection, it’s important to highlight
what is not in the product.
You will not find any sulphates or parabens that could
harm your hair, scalp and skin.
Sulfate Free
Sulfates are a common
detergent added to shampoos. Sulfates tend to be harsh
on the skin and have a drying effect on the hair and
scalp. They can cause red, itchy bumps on the scalp, a
condition known as contact dermatitis. Another problem
with sulfates is that they may lead to hair loss with
prolonged use. Although the exact mechanism is unknown,
scientists believe that sulfates may clog pores and lead
to inflammation of the scalp.
Paraben Free
Parabens are synthetic
preservatives commonly found in shampoos. They have a
chemical structure similar to estrogen that may
interfere with production of the body’s natural hormone
system. Also, they may cause an allergic reaction on the
skin of some people. With alternatives available, there
is no need to take these risks.
